STA® Single Tooth Anesthesia

Computer-controlled anaesthesia — almost without pain.

Fear of injections is widespread. Many patients are more afraid of the anaesthetic injection than of the dental treatment itself. STA® – Single Tooth Anesthesia in combination with The Wand handpiece makes classic anaesthetic injections unnecessary.

STA® — How it works

It is not the needle prick but the pressure that causes pain

Many patients think it is the needle prick that causes pain during an injection. In reality, however, it is the pressure with which the local anaesthetic is applied into the tissue with a conventional anaesthetic syringe. This creates micro-tears in the tissue, which trigger the pain. The computer of the STA® unit, on the other hand, first determines the tissue resistance via a sensor at the needle tip and then calculates the optimal pumping rate for the anaesthetic.

With the STA® anaesthesia system, the anaesthetic fluid drips into the tissue so slowly that it is not traumatised and no pain at all can be triggered. The anaesthetic thus reaches the desired tissue site precisely and in a minimal dose, and the anaesthesia takes effect immediately.

Precise, gentle and rarely used in Germany
Advantages of STA®

Precise, gentle and rarely used in Germany

With STA®, we can administer anaesthesia much more delicately and precisely, numbing not half your face but only the spot that really needs to be numbed. It is even possible to numb a single tooth in isolation. As a result, less anaesthetic is used, which is good for your body. After local anaesthesia with STA®, you have fewer annoying numb lips, tongue or cheek and no unpleasant feeling.

However, this computer-controlled anaesthesia method from the USA is used by only very few dentists. An experienced practitioner who uses STA® skilfully as a matter of routine can even administer anaesthesia imperceptibly. What could be more convincing than an almost pain-free anaesthetic injection?
