If teeth (consisting of crown = visible part and root = anchoring element in the bone) have to be removed, dental implants can replace tooth roots and thus contribute to anchoring the new tooth replacement (e.g. crown, bridge or prosthesis). In many cases, dental implants make it possible to avoid wearing a removable denture or significantly increase the comfort of wearing a denture. "Fixed teeth" up to an advanced age are thus possible.
One of the prerequisites for the insertion of dental implants is the presence of bone of suitable quality and quantity (see also "Regenerative processes").
If this prerequisite is not sufficiently given, the bone quality and quantity of the bone can be increased by different procedures. Own bone as well as various other materials can be used here. The different possibilities are discussed with the patient and his wishes are taken into account. If the patient decides in favour of an implant-supported dental prosthesis, the implementation is based on exact planning in the run-up to the surgical intervention.
Among other things, three-dimensional imaging techniques with the production of navigated drilling templates are used here. The exact planning and positioning of the implants in the bone is done on the computer. Here we work hand in hand with the oral and maxillofacial surgeon and the dental technician to achieve an optimal result.
This is a treatment concept that has been established for many years and has been highly accepted by our patients, resulting in above-average patient satisfaction.
